Two Farms, One Philosophy
There isn’t a day that goes by that we don’t give thanks for the good fortune of being successful year-after-year doing what we truly love—farming beautiful, healthy produce. Since our humble beginnings back in 1979, the farmed-acreage in Nevada alone has doubled many times over and our original sheds have long since been replaced with state-of-the-art packing, shipping and operational facilities.
Peri & Sons Farms’ growth continues to be fueled by year-round demand for the exceptional white, yellow, red, sweet and organic onions that we have come to be known for. So much so, that in 2007 we expanded our farming operation into California.
Peri & Sons Farms in Yerington, Nevada continues to grow and thrive and serves as our company’s headquarters. Our new farmlands and multimillion-dollar packing facility, located in Firebaugh, California, emulate the highly successful clean-and-safe farming, packing and shipping practices and the business philosophy we first established in Nevada many years ago. Our Firebaugh, California farming operation represents another step in our long-range plans for continual, managed growth.
Now that we have the ability to grow, pack and ship our onions directly from our California farm from May through September, and to do the same from our Nevada farm from September into April, we developed our Onions All Year® program to better serve our customers growing needs.
Just as he does in Nevada, David Peri oversees every aspect of our Firebaugh farming operation to ensure that the onions Peri & Sons Farms grows in California meet the same high-quality standards as the wonderful onions we are known for growing in Nevada.
