Ingredients
1 medium yellow onion, chopped
1 tablespoon olive oil
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream
8 ounces lump crab meat, drained
3/4 cup white cheddar, shredded
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
2 tablespoons chopped chives
Hot sauce (optional)
Directions
Heat oil in a skillet to medium-high on the stove top. Add onions and cook until the onions become fragrant and just begin to brown on the edges, about 5-6 minutes. Remove onions from the heat and set a side to cool for a few minutes.
Preheat your oven to 350 F.
In a large bowl, blend together the cream cheese, sour cream, mayonnaise, lemon juice and Old Bay seasoning until smooth. Fold in the cheddar, chives and hot sauce, if using. Gently fold in the crab meat.
Transfer the mixture to a baking dish and bake for 20 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand a couple of minutes before serving.
