Air-Fried Onion Rings
Who doesn’t love a crispy, golden onion ring? Whether you enjoy them as a snack, side dish, or appetizer, onion rings are a delicious treat. However, the traditional deep-frying method can be pretty heavy and greasy. That’s where the air fryer comes in! Air-fried onion rings offer the same satisfying crunch and flavor but with significantly less oil, making them a healthier alternative. Perfectly seasoned and easy to make, these air-fried onion rings will surely be a hit at your next meal or gathering. Air-Fried Onion Rings
Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons smoked paprika
2 teaspoons garlic salt
2 teaspoons onion powder
2 teaspoon kosher salt, divided
2 large eggs
2 tablespoon water
1 cup panko breadcrumbs
2 large Sweetie Sweet® onions, cut into 1/2" thick rounds and separated into rings
Cooking spray
Directions
1. Stir flour, spices, and 1/2 teaspoon of salt in a shallow dish.

2. In another shallow dish, lightly beat the eggs and water.

3. Stir together panko and remaining 1/2 teaspoon salt in a third shallow dish.

4. Dredge onion rings in flour mixture, shaking off excess. Then dip them in egg mixture, allowing any excess to drip off. Back into the flour again, then dredge the onion rings in the panko mixture, pressing the sides so that they stick.

5. Coat both sides of the onion rings with cooking spray.

6. Place each onion ring in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Cook at 375°F for approximately 12 minutes or until golden brown and crispy on both sides, flipping halfway through at 6 minutes.

7. After cooking, lightly sprinkle with the remaining salt. Cover to keep warm while cooking the remaining onion rings.
