Sweetie Sweet® Onion Pie
This easy-to-assemble pie really brings the taste of sweet onions to the forefront. We've simplified the prep work by making use of store-bought pie crust and the results are just as good as if you'd made the crust from scratch. It makes a lovely lunch or dinner served with a simple salad. This recipe makes 8-10 servings.

Sweetie Sweet® Onion Pie
Ingredients
1 frozen pie crust, unthawed
1 large Sweet Sweet® onion, peeled, halved and sliced very thin (use a mandolin if you have one or a very sharp knife)
5 large eggs
1/2 cup whole milk
1/2 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
1 cup Swiss or Gruyere cheese, shredded
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Directions
Preheat your oven to 400 F.

Whisk together milk, cream salt, pepper and half of the cheese in a mixing bowl.

Arrange onions into pie crust evenly. Sprinkle half of cheese onto top of onions. Pour milk mixture over the pie. Bake for 1 hour, until the pie rises and becomes golden brown. Remove from oven and let stand for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
